FHFL Empowers Indigenous Women in Calabar with Homes, Skills, and Opportunities for Long-term Social and Economic Inclusion.

FHFL closed the year by investing in what matters most; people. Beyond delivering physical housing, the Fund reaffirmed its commitment to holistic development through targeted capacity-building initiatives for beneficiaries of the Social Housing Programme in Calabar, Cross River State.

Through this intervention, indigenous women are being empowered not only with safe and decent homes, but also with practical skills, renewed confidence, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The capacity development programme is designed to strengthen self-reliance, foster economic independence, and ensure that beneficiaries are well-positioned to thrive within their communities.

In the coming months, these women will step into new homes, provided at no cost, and into futures defined by dignity, stability, and possibility. This initiative underscores FHFL’s belief that social housing is most impactful when paired with empowerment, enabling beneficiaries to build resilient lives and contribute meaningfully to community growth.
