FHFL Celebrates Handover of Home Keys to Help-to-Own Programme Beneficiaries

Abuja, Nigeria — Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL) proudly announce the handover of home keys to six new homeowners under its transformative Help to Own (HtO) programme. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the journey to make affordable homeownership a reality for low-income Nigerian families.

The Help to Own programme is designed to reduce the barriers to homeownership by allowing families to move into their first homes with just a 10% down payment. The remaining 90% of the home cost is covered by the programme, with flexible repayment terms over a period of up to 20 years. This initiative is a testament to FHFL's commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian has access to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing.

At the handover event, the beneficiaries expressed their joy and gratitude, highlighting the profound impact this opportunity will have on their lives. The programme not only enables families to achieve the dream of homeownership but also contributes to job creation and broader socio-economic development across the country.

"Today’s event underscores our mission to provide affordable housing solutions that empower Nigerian families," said FHFL Managing Director, Mr. Abdul Mutallab Mukhtar, represented by the General Manager, Finance, Madam Nkeiru Arum. "The Help to Own programme is a powerful tool for reducing housing deficits, creating jobs, and driving economic growth. We are proud of the impact it continues to make."

Since its official take-off this year, the Help to Own programme has facilitated homeownership for at least 73 families, creating over 183 jobs in the process. FHFL remains committed to expanding its reach and ensuring that more Nigerians can benefit from this groundbreaking initiative.

This handover ceremony for the six beneficiaries materialised through a partnership between FHFL and Modern Shelter – the property developer; and CityCode Mortgage Bank Limited – the partner mortgage lender.
